Prom...
Provo High School has this great tradition of holding a promenade. The couples hand the announcer a paper with their names on it. He then announces their names and a spotlight shines on them. They are then required to not trip over the cord and make it down the front steps of the Provo City Library at Academy Square. Everyone is invited to come and watch. It takes forever, but as a parent I love it. It is so fun to see who everyone went with. It's even more fun to see all the beautiful dresses. I heard so many comments about how pretty the girls all looked because they were dressed modestly. Funny how that is! Take away the distractions and you can be seen for the beautiful young lady you really are!!! It's also fun to run into all the parents. Many of us cruised on over right after the Adult Session of Conference let out. I was so happy that it ended a few minutes before the hour. Apparently the promenade started right at 9:p.m. It had already started when we got there, so we weren't sure if Keyan had already come down. No, he didn't promenade until an hour later. Parents kept saying that their kids said they are almost there, every 5 minutes. Apparently the line inside was really long and just when they thought they were almost there, they would turn another corner and have to wait some more!!! I also like this tradition because I think it keeps the kids at the dance longer, which is always a good thing, if you ask me!Keyan's group went 4-wheeling for their "day date." It was pouring rain. It was super muddy, but they all enjoyed it. Apparently there was about 4 inches of mud caked on everything! They went out to Lehi for dinner and then to the dance. They went to Joe's for ice cream afterward.
