{bbQ & fiReWoRks}

After last years disastrous Spaghetti fiasco (we all planned a BBQ someone else made spaghetti instead), we have vowed to always have a BBQ. Our neighborhood has a BBQ and since this is our first 4th of July in this neighborhood we decided to join in. There was tons of food (they told us to bring our own meat, but they had so much we just took ours back home). They gave all the kids pop-its and poppers. They made rockets to shoot off. They lit off parachute fireworks so all the kids could run around and find them. As it got darker they did the other fireworks, gave all the kids sparklers and glow sticks, and had a grand finale. It was a lot of fun and easily a hundred people there. Luckily it got over before the Stadium of Fire was done. So we headed home and my brother and his friends were at my house lighting off fireworks. I only got to hang out for a few minutes, because the Stadium of Fire fireworks started which was my cue to leave to go get Sam. They were gone when I got back (it takes forever to get out of the mile or so around the stadium).

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

The buckets of fireworks.

The kids loved to chase down the parachutes.

Hooray for Sparklers and Glow Sticks!!!

Jason Barlow is one of our family additions. Landon was so happy to see that he showed up to our house so that they could have their annual Tank Wars! Just last Friday Barlow finally proposed to Jenny. Her ring is beautiful. They will be getting married in October. I'm sad that I will miss it. It's the weekend of my marathon.
